Beatrice Winifred Iker

Beatrice Winifred Iker (EYE-kurr) (they/them) is an Appalachian storyteller, trail hiker, & tarot reader now living in New England.

Beatrice has a forthcoming adult horror novel, I'LL MAKE A SPECTACLE OF YOU, to be published in the fall of 2025, and a picture book, CHARLEY'S HONKY TONK MISSION, illustrated by Miguelina Milien. It celebrates Charley Pride, America's first Black country music star, and is forthcoming in spring 2026. Beatrice co-hosts the Ignyte Award-winning Afronauts Podcast, which discusses and uplifts Black speculative fiction. They are a Voodoonauts Fellow and enjoys mentoring in writing programs. 

 

 Beatrice is a Rhysling & Dwarf Star Award-nominated poet who was in The Australian Shadows Award-winning anthology Death in the Mouth. They are a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) and the Horror Writers Association (HWA). You can find their work in issues of Anathema Magazine, The Deadlands, FIYAH Magazine of Black Speculative Fiction, Nightmare Magazine, & others. ​
