Inda Ahmad Zahri
Inda Ahmad Zahri always seems to have a pinkie in one world and a toe in another. She trained as a surgical doctor, but now spends most of her time writing and illustrating books for children. Her art is a tug-of-war between the real and the whimsical, and her stories are a mix of laugh-out-louds and quiet wonder. Whether written in rollicking rhyme or lyrical prose, they all circle round to a heartfelt centre that feels like a hug to her readers.
Inda’s books have been longlisted for the CBCA and Diversity ANZ Picture Book of the Year Awards. She has lived and worked in England and Australia, and now splits her time between the Arab peninsula and her hometown of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
