Jess Montz

Jess is a Filipino artist based in Mindanao, Philippines. Growing up in a small town, they yearned to live a life that's more than ordinary. Through their art, they are able to live vicariously through the characters and stories from their imagination. Their work, although not limited to it, strives to give a positive portrayal of LGBTQ+ stories from the beauty of mundane and everyday moments to fantastical and otherworldly settings, especially in a country that currently has little rights and protections of queer people.

 

When Jess is not making art, you can often find them getting lost in a good book, playing their favorite cozy games, cuddling their cats to relax, or people-watching in cafes to find inspiration for their next artwork.
